Combustion analysis on a wall-mounted gas boiler

Finding the fault on a De Dietrich gas boiler

Among wall-hung models, we mostly work on the Naneo, the MCR3 and the Innovens family. They belong to the same group as Remeha and share parts and logic with it. When one stops, its display gives a code that names the function in trouble: ignition, flame, pressure, temperature, fan or communication.

The engineer reads the active fault and the history, then tests one thing after another: gas pressure, electrode and ionisation, fan speed, sensors, pump and three-way valve. He tells you what he found and the cost of the repair, and goes ahead only once you agree.

The main messages are listed on our De Dietrich error codes page. If a code comes back after a reset, the underlying cause is still there and needs looking at.

Floor-standing boiler with a hot water tank in a cellar

Floor-standing boilers run by a Diematic

Larger houses often have a De Dietrich floor-standing boiler on oil or gas in the cellar, with a separate hot water tank and several circuits, radiators upstairs and underfloor heating below. A Diematic controller manages the outdoor sensor, the mixing valves and the time programmes.

Many complaints about these installations are control problems rather than breakdowns: a heating curve set too low, summer mode left on, a failed outdoor sensor or a circuit on the wrong schedule. That is why our engineer checks the settings before suspecting the boiler.

On oil boilers, the annual service covers the burner (nozzle, filter, electrodes), a combustion test and cleaning of the flue passages.

Underfloor heating pipes on insulation panels

Radiators and underfloor heating on one boiler

When a single De Dietrich boiler supplies both radiators and underfloor heating, each circuit must get its own water temperature. A seized mixing valve, a weak circulator or an unbalanced manifold can leave one floor chilly while the other is warm.

We bleed and flush the floor loops, rebalance the manifold, check the circulators and set the Diematic so that every circuit receives what it needs. Often, comfort comes back without replacing any big component.

For renovation projects, we can extend underfloor heating on an existing system or prepare the circuits for a future heat pump.

Air-to-water heat pump outdoor unit against a wall

New boiler, hybrid or heat pump

De Dietrich also builds air-to-water heat pumps, the Alezio and the Strateo among them. When your old boiler is at the end of its life, we compare a new condensing boiler, a heat pump and a hybrid solution for your home, after a visit and in a free quote.

We look at insulation, emitters, available space and hot water use, and tell you honestly which option fits your house and budget. The new appliance need not be a De Dietrich: we recommend what suits you best.

Our team installs and commissions it, explains the controls in plain words and stays available for the yearly service.

What De Dietrich owners call us about

Most requests belong to one of these situations.

Cold house, boiler running

Usually a controller setting, the outdoor sensor or a mixing valve, not the boiler itself.

Lockouts that return

Electrode, gas supply or flue: a repeated lockout needs a proper diagnosis.

Pressure falling

A leak, the expansion vessel or the safety valve; we find out which.

Burner smell on oil

Poor combustion or a nozzle issue. Stop the boiler if it is safe and call us.

Hot water slow to come

Tank sensor, priority setting in the Diematic or a scaled coil in the cylinder.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair the Naneo?

Yes, as well as the MCR3, the Innovens and the floor-standing models. For old boilers we first confirm that parts can still be ordered.

Can you set up my Diematic controller?

Yes: heating curve, schedules and each circuit, and we show you the main settings so you can adjust the temperature yourself.

Are De Dietrich and Remeha the same company?

They are in the same group and some boilers share components, but they remain separate brands. We work on both.

Are you De Dietrich's after-sales department?

No. We are an independent firm repairing and maintaining De Dietrich boilers and heat pumps.

How often should my boiler be serviced?

It depends on the fuel and the Region you live in; we tell you when you book.

Why is my underfloor heating cold while the radiators are hot?

Often a mixing valve, a circulator or a setting on the floor circuit. Call 0477 03 88 98.

Do you install De Dietrich heat pumps?

We install heat pumps, De Dietrich models included, after a visit and a free quote.
