In short: in all 19 municipalities of Brussels, Service Technic Belgium sends a drain technician for a blocked toilet, sink, shower or sewer, with rods, high-pressure jetting or a camera survey, 7 days a week. You know the price in advance. Call 0477 03 88 98.
A blocked toilet in Schaerbeek, a kitchen drain in Ixelles, sewage backing up into a cellar in Forest: our technicians unblock drains all over Brussels, with the right equipment and the price given in advance.

A toilet that rises when you flush, a kitchen sink that drains slowly, a gurgling shower: stop plunging and avoid chemical products, which damage old pipes.
The technician starts with a drain auger, by hand or electric, which clears most blockages of hair, soap or paper.
He tells you the price before starting and explains where the blockage came from, so that it does not come back.

When water comes back up through several outlets or the sewer backs up into the cellar, the blockage is further down: the technician cleans the pipe with high-pressure jetting, which removes grease, scale and roots along its whole length.
For buildings, shops and restaurants we carry out preventive jetting of stacks and sewers, with a report for the building manager.
He also checks the inspection chamber and the non-return valve, which protects the cellar when the public sewer is full.

Brussels lies in the valleys of the Senne, the Maelbeek, the Woluwe and the Ukkelbeek. In heavy storms the public sewers fill up in the low-lying areas: lower Forest, Flagey, the Étangs Noirs, Calevoet, around Brussels-South station.
There, a well-maintained non-return valve on the house connection protects the cellar. After a flood we clear the silt and check the pipe with the camera.
In the green municipalities (Uccle, Watermael-Boitsfort, Auderghem, the Woluwes) tree roots often block old clay pipes.

A camera survey shows the inside of the pipe: roots, a cracked or sagging pipe, grease build-up. You receive the footage and our advice.
Depending on what it shows, we propose jetting, a local repair or relining, with a clear quote.
The footage is also useful when buying or selling a house, or in a dispute with a neighbour or an insurer.

A typical Brussels town house in Saint-Gilles, Ixelles or Schaerbeek has a cast-iron soil stack at the back, a glazed stoneware collector under the basement and an interceptor trap just inside the front wall. That old trap catches most of the debris. When it blocks, the whole house knows: the ground-floor toilet fills up and the basement floor drain smells of sewage.
In the blocks of flats built in the 1960s and 70s, in Evere, Anderlecht or along the big avenues, the trouble is in the kitchen stacks. Ten or twenty sinks drain into them; grease sets in the bends and the lower flats overflow first. There we work with the building manager, from the foot of the stack in the basement.
Houses split into studios often have a toilet added far from the stack, with a macerator or a pipe laid too flat. And in the detached houses of Uccle, Boitsfort or Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, the drain runs under the garden to the street, with an inspection chamber, sometimes a rainwater tank and trees close by. Each case is tackled differently.

For a toilet, the technician uses a sheathed toilet auger that does not scratch the pan. For a sink or shower, an electric drain snake with a thin cable and a head matched to the pipe: it gets round the tight bends of old houses and pulls out hair and grease instead of pushing them further along.
When a pipe is clogged along its whole length, grease in a stack, sand in a collector, roots in a stoneware joint, high-pressure water is needed. The nozzle drives itself forward and scours the walls. For a car park, a courtyard or a restaurant drain, the van with the jetting unit also sucks out the sludge.
The camera comes out when a blockage keeps returning or the cause is unclear. A transmitter in the camera head is located from above: the technician marks the position and depth of the fault on the floor or in the garden, so you know where to dig if a repair is ever needed.

In Brussels, the public sewer under the road is managed by Vivaqua. The pipe from your house to that sewer is private: keeping it clear is the owner’s job. Most of the backflows we see are in that private section, often at the interceptor trap or just past the front wall.
If the camera shows your connection is clear and the water is coming back from the street, the problem is on the public side. We give you the footage and the job sheet so you can report it to Vivaqua.
During a heavy storm, when the public sewer is full in the low-lying districts, no amount of unblocking helps while the rain lasts. A working non-return valve protects the basement; we check and clean it, and tell you if there is none.

We clear drains for owners and tenants, and for businesses: building managers and syndics, estate agents, shops, offices, schools, surgeries, hotels and restaurants. Many of our English-speaking customers live in Etterbeek, Ixelles or Woluwe and call us in English; the office and the technician will explain everything in English.
For a business we come when it causes the least disruption: before opening, after service or at the weekend. A landlord or building manager gets a job sheet stating what was blocking the drain and where, which often settles who pays.

Your area isn't listed? It belongs to one of these municipalities, and we cover it too.
Yes, all 19 municipalities, from Laeken and Haren to Uccle and Auderghem.
No, not even « flushable » ones: they do not break down and form blockages with grease. Put them in the bin.
Sometimes on a small hair blockage. On a real blockage they often fail and damage old pipes. An auger or jetting is safer.
Yes. The call-out and the first hour are quoted on the phone; any part is priced before it is fitted.
Yes, 7 days a week for breakdowns and leaks. Any surcharge is announced before we travel.
Many of them do, and the office always does. Tell us when you book and we will send an English-speaking technician whenever possible.
No. It is useful when a blockage keeps coming back, when the sewer backs up or before repairing a pipe.
A blockage caused by use, such as wipes or grease, is usually down to the occupant. A broken pipe, roots or a back-fall are the landlord’s responsibility. The job sheet states what was blocking the drain, which helps settle it.
No, the public sewer is managed by Vivaqua. We clear and film your private connection; if the problem comes from the street, the footage helps you report it.
Yes. For a bath the technician works through the plug hole and the overflow, for a walk-in shower through the grate and the floor trap. If several bathroom fittings drain slowly, he looks further down, in the pipe.
