Electrician checking a fuse board to find a fault

Electrical repairs: tripping breakers and power cuts

A residual current device that trips at random, a circuit breaker that will not reset, part of the house without power or a burning smell from a socket: these faults need an electrician, not trial and error.

The electrician isolates circuit by circuit to find the one at fault, measures insulation and earth, and tracks down the cause: a damp outdoor socket, a faulty appliance, a loose connection, a damaged cable. He repairs it and checks the protection devices work correctly.

Repairs are carried out 7 days a week. If an appliance is the cause, he tells you which one, so you do not replace the wrong thing.

Electrician wiring a new socket

Sockets, lighting and new circuits

Not enough sockets in the kitchen, an extension cable behind every piece of furniture, a new hob or a heat pump to connect: the electrician adds sockets and circuits sized for the load and protected at the board.

He fits lighting points, switches, dimmers and outdoor lighting, and dedicated circuits for ovens, hobs, washing machines, heat pumps and air conditioning.

Every change is made to the current rules, so that your installation stays compliant at the next inspection.

Electrical installation on a renovation siteHome fuse board with the door open

New installations and fuse board replacement

In a renovation or a new build, the electrician designs and installs the whole system: conduits and boxes, cabling, a new fuse board with the right protective devices, earthing and bonding, and the circuit diagrams.

In older homes, a board with old fuses, no residual current device or no proper earth is replaced by a modern board. It protects people and equipment far better and makes future additions simple.

At the end you receive the diagrams and documents needed for the official inspection by an inspection body, required in Belgium before connection, sale or after major changes.

Wall-mounted charger charging an electric car at a home

EV chargers at home and at work

Charging an electric car on an ordinary socket is slow and puts strain on the installation. A wall-mounted charger charges faster and more safely, on its own protected circuit.

The electrician checks your connection capacity and fuse board, chooses the charger power and its position, and fits the cable and protection devices. Smart chargers can limit their power when the house uses a lot, or charge mainly from solar panels.

For businesses and apartment buildings, we install several charging points with load management, so the connection is not overloaded.

Home automation

With home automation, lighting, shutters, heating and scenes are controlled from switches, a touchscreen or a smartphone. A single press can switch everything off when you leave, or bring the shutters down at sunset.

The electrician designs the system with you, installs the modules in the board and the smart switches, and programs the scenes. It is easiest to plan during a renovation, but many systems can be added to an existing installation.

He shows you how to use it and adjusts the settings after a few weeks of use if needed.

Common electrical problems

RCD trips

Often moisture or a faulty appliance: the electrician finds the culprit circuit by circuit.

Breaker won't reset

A short circuit or an overload on that circuit.

Flickering lights

A loose connection or a faulty dimmer: to check without delay.

Warm or scorched socket

A bad contact that can cause a fire: switch off that circuit and call us.

Old fuse board

No residual current device or no earth: an upgrade is recommended.

Electrical safety at home: good habits

A few simple habits limit the risk of faults and fire.

Test your RCD

Press the test button on your residual current device every few months: it should trip immediately.

No overloaded extensions

Avoid plugging heaters, kettles and other high-power appliances into one extension lead.

Damaged cables

Replace a cracked plug or a damaged cable rather than taping it.

Outdoor sockets

Use sockets with a cover outdoors and switch off garden circuits in winter if they are not used.

Label your board

Know which breaker feeds which room: it saves time in an emergency.

Frequently asked questions

My RCD keeps tripping. What should I do?

Switch off all the breakers, reset the RCD, then switch the circuits back on one by one. The one that makes it trip is at fault; unplug its appliances. If it still trips, call us on 0477 03 88 98.

Is an electrical inspection compulsory?

In Belgium, an inspection by an inspection body is required for new installations, before selling a home and after major changes. We prepare your installation and the documents.

Do you replace old fuse boards?

Yes, with a modern board, residual current devices and proper earthing, including the diagrams.

Can you install an EV charger?

Yes, after checking your connection and board. We also install several chargers for businesses and buildings.

Do you come at weekends?

Yes, for repairs 7 days a week. Any extra charge is quoted on the phone.

Which brands do you work with?

Niko, Legrand, Schneider Electric, Hager, ABB, Siemens and other major brands.

How much does an electrician cost?

It depends on the job. For a repair the price is given before the work; for an installation you receive an itemised quote.

What should I do if a socket smells of burning?

Switch off the circuit at the fuse board, unplug anything connected and do not use the socket again until an electrician has checked it.
