Atlantic electric water heater: no more hot water

Atlantic electric water heaters are common in flats and in houses without gas, including many Brussels apartments. When the water stays cold, the engineer starts with the power supply (day/night contactor, circuit breaker), then the safety thermostat and the heating element.

A safety group that drips while the tank heats up is normal: the water expands. One that runs all the time is not; we check the incoming water pressure and the condition of the group.

Hot water that runs out too quickly often points to scale at the bottom of the tank or a worn anode. Descaling extends the life of the heater; a leaking tank means a replacement.

Heat pump water heater: servicing and faults

Atlantic heat pump water heaters (such as the Calypso) take heat from the air to warm the water. They use little energy but need some care: the air filter must be cleaned and the condensate drain kept clear.

An error message, water that no longer reaches temperature, or a unit that runs permanently on its electric back-up are the most frequent faults.

The engineer also checks the anode, the anti-legionella setting and the location: a room that is too cold or too small cuts the efficiency sharply.

Atlantic Alféa heat pump

The Alféa range covers Atlantic's air-to-water heat pumps, with an outdoor unit and an indoor module that heats the house and often the domestic hot water.

We service them: cleaning the outdoor unit, checking the water circuit and its filters, the cylinder and the heating curve. Regular servicing prevents icing, fault codes and running costs that climb.

When there is a breakdown, the engineer starts from the code on the controller, checks the sensors, the water flow and the communication between the two units, and gives you the cost before repairing.

Naia and Naema gas boilers

Atlantic wall-hung condensing boilers (the Naia and Naema families, heating only, combi or with a Duo cylinder) are less common here than Vaillant or Bulex. We often find them in flats fitted out by a developer.

Typical faults: lockout after several ignition attempts, a flame that goes out because of the flue or a blocked condensate trap, pressure that drops, irregular hot water.

Some models are controlled through the Cozytouch app: a connection problem does not mean the boiler has failed. The engineer tells the difference and explains it.

Servicing Atlantic appliances

An Atlantic gas boiler gets the same service as any condensing boiler: burner, exchanger, trap, electrodes, expansion vessel, flue and combustion analysis, with the attestation your region requires.

A heat pump water heater needs its air filter cleaned and its anode and drain checked. An Alféa heat pump has a yearly check of the outdoor unit, the water circuit and the settings.

If you have several appliances at home, a boiler and a water heater for example, say so when booking: everything is done in one visit.

Repair or replace

A leaking water heater is replaced; one with a faulty element or thermostat is repaired. For a heat pump or a boiler it depends on its age and on the part.

For a replacement you get a free quote, with the choice between the same brand and another appliance better suited to your home.

The engineer always tells you what he found and what the repair costs, and waits for your agreement before he starts.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair all Atlantic appliances?

We service and repair Naia and Naema gas boilers, electric and heat pump water heaters, and Alféa heat pumps.

My electric water heater gives no hot water, what could it be?

Often the power supply, the safety thermostat or the element. Check the breaker and the day/night contactor first.

Is it normal for the safety group to drip?

While the water heats up, yes. If it runs constantly, the water pressure is too high or the group is worn.

My Cozytouch app has stopped working, is the boiler broken?

Not necessarily: it may only be the connection. The engineer tells the difference.

Are you the Atlantic after-sales service?

No, we are Service Technic Belgium and we work on Atlantic appliances like on other brands.

Do you cover the whole of Belgium?

Yes, Brussels, Wallonia and Flanders.

How do I book?

Call 0477 03 88 98, send us a WhatsApp message or book online with the « Book an appointment » button. Tell us the municipality and, in a few words, what is going on.

An Atlantic appliance has broken down?

Call 0477 03 88 98 with the type of appliance and the code: an engineer finds the cause and gives you the cost before repairing.
