Fixing Ferroli wall-hung boilers

In flats and terraced houses, the Ferroli boilers we meet are mainly condensing combis from the Bluehelix range and the Divacondens, plus older non-condensing models such as the Domicompact. Their display shows a letter followed by two digits: an A code for a lockout that needs a reset, an F code for a temporary fault.

A01, for instance, generally means the burner did not ignite. Rather than resetting it again and again, our engineer checks the gas supply, the electrode and its cable, the gas valve, the fan and the condensate drain. If a sensor or the pump is at fault, he finds it with his meter, not by trial and error.

More codes are explained on our Ferroli error codes page. The engineer gives you the repair price before he begins.

Ferroli combis are often installed in rented flats, so tenants and landlords both call us. We can speak to either, send the report to the owner and, when the repair is done, explain to the tenant how to keep an eye on the pressure gauge.

Floor-standing Ferroli boilers on oil

Ferroli also makes floor-standing cast-iron boilers, often running on heating oil with a separate burner. They are common in older detached houses, especially in villages where there is no mains gas.

The yearly service of an oil boiler covers the burner (nozzle, filter, electrodes, photocell), the boiler body and flue passages, and a combustion test. When such a boiler refuses to start, the fault is often in the fuel supply or the burner rather than the boiler itself.

If you are considering a switch from oil to gas or to a heat pump, we can study it during the visit and send a free quote.

Servicing: why it matters on Ferroli

Compact condensing boilers have small passages that clog quickly when they are not cleaned. A neglected Bluehelix can start to lock out, lose efficiency or make noise. The periodic service, compulsory in Belgium at an interval that depends on the Region and fuel, prevents this.

Our engineer cleans the exchanger and burner, flushes the siphon, checks the ignition electrode, the expansion vessel and the safety devices, then measures and adjusts the combustion.

You receive your maintenance attestation. For landlords, we can organise the service in several flats of the same building on one day.

Replacement and upgrades

When a Ferroli boiler is too old, keeps breaking down or a needed part is no longer made, we recommend a replacement. In a flat, a new condensing combi usually takes the same place; in a house, a system boiler with a cylinder or a heat pump may be more suitable.

Replacing the boiler is also a good moment to deal with radiators that are too small, valves that no longer close and a circuit full of sludge. We can flush it and fit thermostatic valves at the same time.

You receive a free quote after a visit, with the options explained in plain language. The old boiler is removed and taken away by our team.

Ferroli: frequent call-outs

These are the problems we fix most on Ferroli boilers.

Ignition failure

No flame at start-up; gas, electrode, valve or condensate drain.

Low pressure lockout

The boiler stops below about one bar; we find out why the water escapes.

Hot water fluctuating

Flow sensor, diverter valve or a scaled-up plate exchanger.

Overheating

Pump weak or stuck, air in the circuit, closed valves.

Frequently asked questions

Are Ferroli parts easy to find in Belgium?

For recent models such as the Bluehelix and Divacondens, yes. For older boilers we check availability before planning the repair.

My Ferroli shows A01. What should I do?

It usually means the boiler failed to ignite. Check the gas is on, reset once, and if it comes back call us on 0477 03 88 98.

Are you Ferroli's service agent?

No. We are an independent firm that repairs and maintains Ferroli boilers.

I am a landlord with several flats. Can you help?

Yes. We can group services in one building and handle tenants' breakdowns, with a report for each flat.

Do you service oil boilers?

Yes, including the burner. Oil boilers generally need a yearly service.

Is it worth repairing an old Ferroli?

It depends on its age, the part and how often it fails. The engineer gives you an honest opinion and both prices.

Can you come on a Sunday?

Yes, 7 days a week. The supplement is announced in advance.

How do I know which Ferroli model I have?

Look at the label on the front or underneath the boiler, or send us a photo by WhatsApp. The model name, such as Bluehelix Tech or Divacondens, helps the engineer bring the right parts.
