Plumber fitting the mixer of a walk-in shower

Walk-in shower and bath replacement

The walk-in shower, level with the floor and without a step, is the most requested bathroom renovation. It is easier to access, especially for older people, and makes the room look bigger.

Its success depends on what you cannot see: the floor fall towards the channel or waste, the height available for the drain and above all the waterproofing under the tiles, with tapes in the corners and around penetrations. The plumber checks these points before proposing a solution.

He then fits the mixer, thermostatic or not, concealed or exposed, the riser rail or rain shower, the glass screen and the waste. To replace a bath, he removes the old one, adapts supply and waste and prepares the base for the tiler.

Plumber fitting a wall-hung toilet

Wall-hung toilet and frame

A wall-hung toilet frees the floor, is easy to clean and takes slightly less space than a standard toilet. It hangs on a frame fixed to wall and floor, which hides the cistern behind a false wall.

The plumber checks the wall can carry the frame, that the waste can be connected at the right height and that the water supply is accessible. He fits the frame and connects it; the tiler or dry-liner then finishes the wall before the pan is fixed.

The flush plate gives access to the flush mechanism and fill valve for maintenance. We fit frames from major brands whose parts are still easy to find years later.

Plumber assembling a wall-hung vanity unit

Vanity unit, taps and connections

A wall-hung vanity unit is fixed firmly to the wall at the right height, allowing for the weight of the top and what will be stored inside. The plumber provides hot and cold supplies and the waste where the chosen model needs them.

He fits the basin, mixer, trap and isolation valves, connects and tests. For a double basin, he doubles supplies and waste. Silicone joints come last, once everything is checked.

You can choose your unit and taps yourself or ask our advice: we work with Belgian wholesalers and suggest models to suit your budget.

Tiling a bathroom during a renovation

Full bathroom refit

For a full refit, one point of contact coordinates all the work: strip-out, plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, joinery and ventilation. You do not have to juggle several firms and diaries.

The job follows a set order: strip-out, pipework and electrics adapted, waterproofing, tiling, then sanitaryware and finishes. Bathroom ventilation is planned from the start to avoid damp and mould.

The quote details each item and the expected duration. During the work we keep a usable toilet whenever possible and keep you informed of progress.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a bathroom refit take?

Replacing a bath with a shower takes a few days; a full refit often two to three weeks. The duration is in the quote.

Can I supply my own fittings?

Yes. We fit what you buy, after checking it suits your installation.

Is a walk-in shower always possible?

Not always: there must be enough height for the waste. Otherwise a low-profile tray gives a similar result. The plumber checks during the visit.

Does reduced VAT apply?

For renovating a private home over ten years old, 6 % VAT may apply under certain conditions. We state it in the quote.

Do you install water softeners?

Yes, on the mains supply. They protect taps, water heater and appliances from limescale.

How do I ask for a quote?

Via the form, by booking a visit online or on 0477 03 88 98.

Which brands do you fit?

Grohe, Hansgrohe, Geberit, Duravit, Villeroy & Boch, Ideal Standard, Roca and others, to suit your budget.

Can you adapt a bathroom for an older person?

Yes: walk-in shower without a step, grab rails, a higher toilet, a thermostatic mixer to avoid scalding. We plan it from the design stage.
