Engineer testing parts inside a wall-hung gas boiler

Bosch Condens out of order

Most Bosch boilers we are called to are wall-hung condensing gas units: the Condens 2300i W, Condens 5300i and Condens 7000i W, plus older models that carried both the Bosch and Junkers names. A fault appears as a short code on the screen, such as EA when no flame has been detected, or a code relating to temperature or water pressure.

Our method is step by step: is gas reaching the valve, is there a spark and is the flame detected, does the fan run, what do the flow and return sensors read, are the pump and three-way valve working, and only after all that, the electronic board. Testing in this order avoids buying an expensive board when a cheap sensor was the culprit.

The most common messages are explained on our Bosch error codes page. Read us the code on the phone: the engineer can then load the likely part and often repair the boiler in one trip.

Keeping a Bosch boiler efficient

Serviced at the right moment, a Bosch boiler keeps its efficiency and avoids breaking down on the coldest night. In Belgium the required interval depends on the Region and on the fuel; we tell you which applies when you book.

The engineer cleans the exchanger, burner and condensate trap, checks the expansion vessel and pressure relief valve, tests the safety devices and runs a combustion analysis. If you control your heating with an EasyControl thermostat or the Bosch app, he checks the connection while on site.

You then receive the maintenance attestation, together with a word on any part showing wear, so you can plan its replacement calmly.

Compress heat pumps and hot water

Under the Compress name, Bosch makes air-to-water heat pumps such as the Compress 7000i AW, and heat pump water heaters too. We install, maintain and repair them, both for current owners and for people who want to leave a gas or oil boiler behind.

Before advising a heat pump, we make sure the house will benefit: insulation, radiator sizes, a spot for the outdoor unit, noise towards neighbours and hot water use. When a heat pump alone is not the answer, we explain the alternatives, among them hybrid systems.

We deal with defrost problems, flow alarms, sensor errors and weak performance after a cold spell, each repair being priced before we start.

Changing an old Bosch or Junkers boiler

Plenty of Belgian homes still rely on a Junkers or early Bosch boiler fitted fifteen or twenty years ago. While it runs reliably, there is no hurry. Once breakdowns multiply or a board is no longer produced, a new condensing boiler is the sensible move.

We begin with a visit to check the flue, gas meter, radiators, hot water needs and available space, then send a free quote with the recommended output and, where it makes sense, a heat pump or hybrid alternative.

On installation day, our team drains the system, removes the old boiler, fits and connects the new one, refills and bleeds the circuit, commissions it and shows you the controls. We take the old appliance away.

Useful details to give us

With a few details the engineer arrives better prepared. No need to open anything: just look at the boiler and its display.

The model

On the front or a label underneath: Condens 2300i, 7000i, or an older reference.

The code

Letters and digits on the screen, and whether a light blinks.

The pressure

The reading on the gauge, in bar; below about one bar, the boiler usually stops.

What still works

Heating without hot water, or the reverse? It narrows the search.

Frequently asked questions

Has my Junkers boiler become a Bosch?

In Belgium, boilers formerly sold as Junkers now carry the Bosch name, and many parts are shared. We repair both, old and new.

What does EA mean on a Bosch boiler?

No flame was detected. Check the gas is open, then call us on 0477 03 88 98 instead of resetting repeatedly.

Do you repair Bosch heat pumps?

Yes, Compress models included: we read the controller's errors, check the water and refrigeration sides and fix the cause.

Are you part of Bosch's service network?

No, we are an independent heating company that repairs and services Bosch appliances.

How long does a Bosch service last?

About an hour on a regularly maintained boiler; you get the attestation at the end.

Can my Bosch boiler be replaced by a heat pump?

If the house is suitable, yes. We visit first and send a free quote comparing the options.

Do you work on Sundays?

Yes, 7 days a week; the weekend supplement is announced before we come.
