Servicing a propane boiler with attestation

A propane boiler is serviced like a natural gas boiler: cleaning of the burner and exchanger, check of the electrodes, the seals and the condensate trap, then a combustion analysis. The settings are specific to propane, and the engineer checks that the boiler is set for that gas.

He also checks the pressure regulator, the supply line from the tank and the tightness of the connections in the boiler room.

You receive the service attestation with the measured values. Keep it with the papers of the tank, which has its own inspections.

Repairing a propane boiler

Ignition faults are the most common: an empty or almost empty tank, a regulator that freezes in cold weather, an electrode or a gas valve at the end of its life. The boiler shows an ignition code and locks out.

The engineer checks the gas pressure at the boiler, the ionisation current and the gas valve, then the pump, the pressure and the sensors if the fault is elsewhere.

He gives you the cost before repairing and checks the combustion afterwards, as with every gas appliance.

Replacing with a propane condensing boiler

An old propane boiler without condensing technology uses a lot of fuel, and propane is not cheap. A modern condensing boiler, well set and fed with cooler water, makes a clear difference on the number of deliveries.

The engineer checks the output you need, the flue and the condensate drain, and whether your radiators work at a lower temperature.

You receive a detailed quote with the boiler, the controls and the commissioning.

Moving from propane to a heat pump or a hybrid system

In a reasonably insulated house, an air-to-water heat pump can replace the propane boiler and free you from the tank. In other homes, a hybrid system keeps a small boiler for the coldest days.

Before advising, the engineer looks at your consumption, the insulation, the radiators and the electrical supply. He compares the options frankly, including keeping the current boiler if it still makes sense.

We also tell you which regional grants may apply at the time of the quote.

Smell of gas: what to do

No spark: do not touch any switch, light or phone inside the house. Close the valve on the tank if you can do so safely.

Go outside and call the emergency number of your propane supplier or 112. Propane is heavier than air and collects in low places such as cellars.

Once the area is safe, have the installation checked before using the boiler again.

How the visit goes

Call or book online, tell us the make of the boiler and what it shows. A photo of the display helps.

The call-out cost is given before anyone leaves. On site, the engineer finds the cause, gives you the cost and waits for your agreement.

You receive a job sheet and an invoice from Service Technic Belgium, and the attestation after a service.

From your call to the invoice

1

A short call

Address, appliance, what is wrong: the office writes it down and books a time.

2

No surprises

You know the call-out cost before anyone leaves; a replacement or a new installation gets a written quote.

3

On site

Diagnosis and explanation first, then your agreement, then the work. The documents come from Service Technic Belgium.

Frequently asked questions

Does a propane boiler need a yearly service?

It follows the rules for gas boilers in your Region; we advise a service every year, with a attestation.

Why does my propane boiler stop in cold weather?

The tank may be low or the regulator may freeze. The engineer checks the gas pressure at the boiler and the regulator.

Can a natural gas boiler run on propane?

Some can be converted with a kit and new settings; others cannot. The engineer checks your model.

Can I replace my propane boiler with a heat pump?

Often yes, in a reasonably insulated house. The survey tells you whether it suits.

Do you deliver propane?

No, the gas comes from your supplier. We service, repair and replace the boiler.

I smell gas: what should I do?

Do not touch any switch, close the tank valve if it is safe, go outside and call your supplier's emergency number or 112.

How do I book?

Call 0477 03 88 98, send us a WhatsApp message or book online with the « Book an appointment » button. Tell us the municipality and, in a few words, what is going on.
