What jetting does

The jetting unit sends high-pressure water to a nozzle that pulls itself forward thanks to jets pointing backwards. As it is drawn slowly back, the nozzle lifts grease, silt, scale and deposits, which the water carries to the sewer.

Unlike a drain snake, which opens a hole in the blockage, jetting restores the pipe to its original bore.

For roots, a rotating chain or cutter head removes what has grown through the joints.

For co-owned buildings

In an apartment block, a kitchen stack takes greasy water from every floor. Deposits build up in the bends and at the foot of the stack until the day the ground floor floods.

Jetting once a year, planned with the managing agent, costs less than one emergency call-out with damage to a flat. We do it on the day that suits you and ask residents not to use water for a few hours.

The job sheet lists the pipes cleaned and their condition, for the building file.

For restaurants and shops

A commercial kitchen produces a lot of grease. Even with a grease trap, the pipe between the sink and the trap fouls quickly.

We jet those pipes and empty the trap as often as your business requires, before opening or after service.

In a bakery, hair salon or dental practice other deposits form: flour, hair, plaster. The principle stays the same.

Old pipes in Brussels

The clay collectors of old houses take jetting well if the pressure is right. The technician starts gently and watches what the water brings back.

If the water comes back carrying bits of earth or clay, the pipe is damaged: he stops and suggests a camera inspection before going further.

In the gardens of Uccle, Watermael-Boitsfort or the Woluwes, large trees send roots towards the joints. Jetting with a root-cutting head every year or two keeps the way clear.

Jetting and filming

After jetting, the pipe is clean: the best time to film it. You then see the cracks, displaced joints and back-falls that the deposits were hiding.

Before buying a house or redoing a courtyard, this inspection avoids nasty surprises once the work is finished.

The report contains the footage and the position of each defect, useful if you need quotes for a repair.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between jetting and unblocking?

Unblocking removes a blockage so water flows again. Jetting cleans the whole pipe so that no blockage forms.

How often should a building stack be jetted?

Once a year is enough in most buildings. A busy kitchen stack or a restaurant needs it more often.

Does jetting damage old pipes?

Not with the right pressure. The technician watches what the water brings back and stops if the pipe shows weakness.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

We schedule regular jetting with you or your managing agent, on dates you choose, without a long-term commitment.

Do you empty grease traps too?

Yes, we empty them and jet the pipes leading to them, for restaurants and canteens.

Do we get a report?

The job sheet lists the pipes cleaned and what was seen. With a camera inspection you also get the footage.
