In short: a cold room that no longer pulls down, an alarm in the middle of service, an evaporator full of ice or a door that will not close: we repair, service and install cold rooms for restaurants, snack bars, caterers and food shops in the 19 municipalities. Call 0477 03 88 98.
In Brussels the cold room of a restaurant or sandwich bar often sits in a vaulted cellar, a back kitchen or an old covered yard. When it fails on a Friday evening, both the stock and the service are at risk. We help you protect the goods on the phone while the technician sets off.

On the phone we help you decide what to move into other fridges while the technician is on the way. On site, he first tries to get the cold back, even temporarily, before the final repair.
The usual causes are a dirty condenser, a fan that has stopped, an expansion valve out of adjustment, a faulty end-of-defrost sensor, a frozen condensate drain or a small leak that slowly empties the circuit.
A chilled room keeps fresh produce between 0 and 4 °C; a freezer room keeps frozen goods at -18 °C or colder, with a heavier defrost and a heated door frame. We work on both and give you the cost of the repair before doing it.

The condensing unit stands in an inner courtyard, on a flat roof or in a poorly ventilated plant room. In summer the heat builds up there: the pressure rises, the compressor runs non-stop and then cuts out on its safety switch.
A clean condenser and fans in good order prevent most of these breakdowns. During a service we clean the condenser and the evaporator, measure pressures and temperatures, check the connections, the tightness of the circuit, the seals, the hinges and the person-trapped alarm.
Depending on the quantity of refrigerant, periodic leak checks are compulsory: we carry them out and keep the logbook. The detailed job sheet you receive is useful for your own food safety checks for the AFSCA.

Pastry shops, butchers, caterers and delicatessens work with a cold room at the back and a refrigerated display in the shop. Sandwich bars have their chilled counter, bars their back-bar coolers and drinks cabinets.
These units suffer from the heat of the shop and the doors opening all day. We repair fans, thermostats, defrost systems, glass door seals and lighting, and we clean the condensers that collect dust and grease.
A combined service of the cold room and the other units before summer saves you time. For shops with fixed hours, we come before opening or after closing.

Many older Brussels cold rooms still run on R404A, a refrigerant whose use for servicing is being phased out by European rules. A large leak on such a unit raises the question of conversion or replacement: we advise you before the breakdown, so you can decide calmly.
In the city, the noise of a condensing unit can disturb the neighbours, especially at night. When we replace one, we choose a position and equipment that keep the noise down: anti-vibration mounts, variable speed fans and a screen if needed.
For a new room, we size the unit to your products and volumes and fit controls with an alarm. The quote is free and lists the panels, the door, the unit and the commissioning.

A temperature that keeps rising points to a dirty condenser, a stopped fan, a lack of refrigerant or an expansion valve out of adjustment. Tell us the temperature shown and how long it has been climbing.
An evaporator caught in ice points to the defrost, its end sensor or a door left open. Water on the floor points to a blocked or frozen condensate drain.
A door that closes badly usually has a torn seal, sagging hinges or a heater cable that has failed. With these details the technician comes with the right part.

A cold room that runs all year works hard, especially in a small Brussels kitchen where the air is warm and greasy. A visit before summer and another before the end-of-year rush catch most faults in advance.
The technician leaves a written report with the measurements and anything to plan, such as a fan to replace or a seal to change. You decide what to do and when.
One contact follows your site from one year to the next: the cold room, the display cases and the air conditioning of the dining room if you have it.

Yes. Any evening or weekend supplement is given on the phone before the technician sets off.
Cleaning, anti-vibration mounts and adjusted fans are sometimes enough. When it is replaced, we choose a quieter unit.
European rules increasingly restrict its use for servicing. After a large leak, conversion or replacement is often the more sensible choice.
